About Us
Where calling meets direction
NINSOM was founded to educate and equip students with an emphasis on training healthy indigenous church leadership. Through formal education coupled with real world discipleship.

Our Story
Niitsitapii Issohtsik Ninaa (Future Indigenous Leaders) School of Ministry was born out of a deep recognition of the pressing need for more competent, consistent leadership across Native communities. In many Native churches, the burden of ministry often falls entirely on the pastor and their family. With extensive and comprehensive experience deeply rooted in Native ministry, we witnessed firsthand the unsustainable toll this dynamic can take—a weight too heavy for any single family to bear.
Our Native churches and communities deserve healthier, more sustainable leadership structures. With this revelation, our team at Four Winds Assembly of God committed ourselves to prayer and strategic planning. We reached out—making calls, sending emails, and meeting with individuals—seeking ways to turn this vision into reality.
Guided by the Lord’s provision and wisdom, we persevered through every challenge. Our journey included expanding our team, securing funding, and forging a key partnership with Northwest University. We also began the transformative work of renovating our facilities to accommodate the new school.
Our vision for Niitsitapii Issohtsik Ninaa is simple yet profound: to be a hub where students can receive accredited education, practical ministry training, and spiritual formation. Graduates will be equipped to serve their local Native communities, partnering with pastors to share the responsibility of ministry. We also aim to create a pathway for churches to send individuals called by God to ministry so they can return equipped to fulfill official roles within their congregations.
This initiative is built on a foundation of hope, faith, and prayer, with the belief that Niitsitapii Issohtsik Ninaa will empower future leaders, strengthen local churches, and transform our Native communities for generations to come.
